After a week of wedding preparations and maid of honor duties, I wish I were going along on the honeymoon to Greece and Rome. I’m still in Pittsburgh, but this week my travel heart is vicariously living through the bridal couple!!
Hoping to get back on the blogging track this week!
I realize the TTP has been to Italy lately, but watching and now reading Under the Tuscan Sun has got me desperately craving pasta, ancient ruins, cobbled streets, and old quirky houses. My first experience in Tuscany was Florence and I ran into this. I remember this day distinctly in all my time in Europe because I honestly couldn’t believe something this magnificently beautiful existed in real life. The picture doesn’t even begin to do it justice.
Medici Palace? Where do I sign up?
Ciao bella Italia, we meet again. I started browsing an Elizabeth Gilbert book, not Eat, Pray, Love, in which she mentions her journey in Eat, Pray, Love. Naturally my next line of thinking in my farang food deprived body was the obscene amount of amazingness that she put into her belly. So today, my mind is in Italy, Sardinia specifically, with a group of people besides Thai calling out my beauty while I take in the scenery, preferably with a plate of pasta and a glass of wine in front of me. Crystal blue water, white sand beaches, and lonely beach coves doesn’t sound too bad either.
I’m on a Michael Corleone Godfather kick lately. So naturally, this week I’m dreaming of visiting their beautiful homeland of Sicily. And with views like this in Messina, who wouldn’t?
