Pgh. I’m so glad to be here in the springtime with such nice weather and time to spend with my family. Life is good in the ‘burgh, my travel heart is firmly stationed here.
I realize I’ve been slacking on the posts since my arrival in America. Hopefully that’ll change soon, but I’ve been busy getting my mind changed about the city on the other side of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Pre-disposed to have a certain disposition about ‘Filthydelphia,’ my western PA roots were swept away by the brick buildings, quirky shops, and remembering scenes from National Treasure. Yes, I’m a history nerd. You would be too in this surprisingly awesome city.
Honestly, I’m a little surprised with myself. How have I gone this long without including Istanbul amongst the TTP glory? Turkey has been on my wish list of places to go since I first heard its name (countries that share a name with an animal in English can do that to a girl), but I haven’t made it yet. I think it’s safe to say Istanbul, you’ve caught my eye.
I realize this is a few days late, sorry about that! Between Skype chats yesterday with my Mom, aunt and cousin (it was his wedding day!), laundry, and then catching up with my brother, I was a little busy.
Chiang Mai has some of the most beautiful and oldest temples in Thailand. Though I didn’t make it out to the famous Doi Suthep, the temples within the city walls are worth the visit. Here are some clips from my time there.
